In relation to the logging of our native forest, I ask -
(1) What are the estimated total cubic metres of logs currently sitting on landings throughout our State forest that were logged under Forest Products Commission’s logging schedules?
(2) What is the recorded value of that timber?
(3) What percentage of that timber has a contract of sale?
(4) What is the intended use of the remaining timber?

(3) All log timber stacked on bush landings which meets the specifications of a saleable log, is sold by the Forest Products Commission (FPC) under contract. There will however always be a small portion of below specification log timber which remains on bush landings, the FPC continues to seek buyers for such material as markets permit. (4) The remaining log timber will be sold by the Forest Products Commission if/when markets are found.
