I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) No. The Western Australian Planning Commission has not yet published a planning bulletin in relation to child care centres. (2) Following discussions with the Minister for Community Development last year regarding the need for the state government to provide planning guidance in relation to child care centres, the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure asked the WAPC to take steps to prepare an appropriate policy. Officers from the Department for Planning and Infrastructure have been liaising with officers of the Department for Community Development concerning relevant issues and an officer from the Department for Planning and Infrastructure recently attended a meeting of the child care advisory committee convened by the Minister for Community Development to present and discuss a draft of the WAPC planning bulletin concerning child care centres. (3) Not applicable.
