SYNERGY — EMERGENCY SOLAR MANAGEMENT
1361. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Energy:
I refer to Synergy's
capability, as from 14 February 2022, to remotely turn off and turn on again
new and upgraded rooftop solar systems.
(1) As remote
management is only intended to be used when all other available options to
protect the grid have been exhausted, how many times has emergency solar
management been activated for each month, or portion of, from February 2022 to
October 2023?
(2) How many
households were affected in that time frame through the application of ESM?
(3) For that
time frame, were ESM-affected households liable to pay for the electricity they
consumed during the time their solar units were remotely turned off?
