On behalf of the Minister for Police, I thank the honourable
member for some notice of the question.
(1) The
electorate of Belmont encompasses different boundaries to the Western Australia
Police subdistrict, requiring manual calculation of the present crime rate. As
a result, the information requested cannot be provided in the time available.
(2) Western
Australia Police advises that due to operational sensitivities, specific
information relating to staffing levels of individual police stations is not
released. Resources are allocated at a district level and district superintendents
deploy those resources within their districts to deliver the best possible
policing service to the community.
It should be noted that the suburb of Burswood falls within
the electorate of Victoria Park and the policing subdistrict of Kensington.
