I refer to regional police stations, and I ask: (a) can the Minister advise how many police stations in rural and regional Western Australia are closed on weekends; (b) given the critical role of these stations for community safety, will the Western Australian Government commit to ensuring all regional towns with a police station have a police officer present on weekends; and (c) if no to (b), why not?

Response time
7 days
(a-c) The Western Australia Police Force responds to calls for help from the public across the State 24/7, including weekends. Police officers will always respond on a needs and priority basis. On weekends, all police stations in rural and regional Western Australia will either be staffed by on duty police officers or will operate in a hub model with other stations nearby, ensuring 7 day a week on-call response.  Additionally, each regional Western Australia police district has at least one police station open to the public 24/7. These are at the larger centres of Albany, Bunbury, Northam, Kalgoorlie, Geraldton, Karratha, South Hedland, Kununurra and Broome.
