PLAN FOR JOBS —
TREASURY FORECASTS
153. Dr M.D. NAHAN to the Premier:
With your forbearance, I would like
to congratulate the member for Midland for 25 years' service to her
community and this house.
I refer to the answer provided by
the Treasurer to the Legislative Council regarding Treasury modelling of the
Premier's 150 000 job plan that confirmed that the annual rate of
employment growth needed is 1.8 per cent, in order to achieve that target.
Given the annual rate of employment growth of the Premier's so-called
aspirational target is actually lower than the two per cent rate of employment
growth forecast in the state budget, will the Premier admit that his so-called
aspirational jobs target is an aspiration to fail?
