SHANNON AND D’ENTRECASTEAUX NATIONAL PARKS — MANAGEMENT PLAN
I refer to the fact that the management plan for the Shannon and D’Entrecasteaux National Parks expired in 1997 and that, after 12 years of consultation and preparation, the Conservation Commission of Western Australia has submitted a revised management plan. (1) When did the minister receive the plan from the Conservation Commission? (2) When will the minister release the final plan? (3) What has caused the delay in the release of the final plan? (4) Has the minister sent the plan received from the Conservation Commission to the Department of Environment and Conservation for further advice? (5) Did DEC prepare the plan on behalf of the Conservation Commission? (6) Does the minister’s taking further advice from DEC without public involvement undermine the public consultation process that the Conservation Commission engaged in for the preparation of the plan? Hon DONNA FARAGHER
