I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1)-(4) The Government has not received specific funding from Cable Sands for the preparation of a management plan for the Tuart Forest National Park. Cable Sands is required to provide $830 000 for the tuart conservation initiatives within 12 months following the commencement of mining. The Government has sought advice from the Tuart Response Group as well as the Department of Conservation and Land Management and the Conservation Commission of Western Australia on how best to allocate the funding. A final determination on the use of these funds has not been made. (5) The Department of Conservation and Land Management spent the following amounts on direct management activities in the Tuart Forest National Park - (a) approximately $40 000 in 2003-04; (b) approximately $55 000 in 2002-03; (c) approximately $26 000 in 2001-02. These figures do not include planning and administrative costs. (6) Approximately 190 hectares of weed control will be conducted in the park in the 2004-05 financial year.
