1012. Hon ALANNA CLOHESY to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the urgent need to upgrade Lord Street between
Reid Highway and Gnangara Road.
(1) Has the City of Swan approached the Minister for
Transport to obtain funding for the upgrade?
(2) If so, how much will the state government contribute to
this upgrade and when?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) Yes.
(2) While there
is currently no time frame identified for improvement to the Lord Street
corridor, the LiberalQQQ ### QQQNational government will continue to work with the City of Swan to identify
opportunities to improve the local transport network. The member may be
interested to know that the LiberalQQQ ### QQQNational government has worked closely with the City of
Swan in the past to deliver funding arrangements for the upgrades of local
roads, including the long overdue duplication of Gnangara Road, upgrade of the
Lord StreetQQQ ### QQQReid Highway
intersection, and upgrade of the West Swan RoadQQQ ### QQQGnangara Road intersection, to name a few.
