WESTERN
AUSTRALIAN GREYHOUND RACING ASSOCIATION — FUNDING
945. Hon KATE DOUST to the
Leader of the House representing the Minister for Racing and Gaming:
Again, I ask this
question on behalf of Hon Sue Ellery. I refer to state government funding from
Racing and Wagering Western Australia to Greyhounds WA.
(1) What money has been or will be provided
to Greyhounds WA to fund redevelopment plans at Cannington in 2012–13,
2013–14 and 2014–15?
(2) What is the estimated total project cost for the redevelopment of
Cannington?
(3) What is the shortfall between money funded and money needed to
complete the project?
(4) What facilities will the new development be lacking because of this
shortfall of funding?

Wagering Western Australia has committed $11 million in 2014–15 and a
further $2 million in 2015–16.
(2) The total cost of all
development stages is estimated at $21.3 million.
(3) It is $8.3 million.
(4) Stage 1 will
include full training, trialling and racing facilities. Further development
stages are dependent on future funding.
