GRIFFIN
COAL
346. Dr D.J. HONEY to the Minister for State and Industry
Development, Jobs and Trade:
I have a supplementary question. Why can the minister not
simply provide some transparency on this massive investment of public money?

AnswerView source ↗

As the member would be aware, we provide regular updates via
brief ministerial statements to the house to make sure that we keep the house
as informed as we possibly can. We are dealing with complex private sector
contracts with private sector interests and, of course, key amongst those are
the commercial-in-confidence arrangements that sit behind a lot of those
arrangements. We will make sure that we provide all the information we can
while protecting that commercial-in-confidence arrangement.
