FAMILY AND DOMESTIC
VIOLENCE OFFENDERS — GPS TRACKING DEVICES
271. Ms L. METTAM to the Premier:
I refer to the Premier's
announcement in October 2023 that his government would introduce legislation
that would compel courts and the Prisoners
Review Board to impose GPS monitoring conditions on family violence
perpetrators subject to community supervision.
(1) Why does the
Premier's government continue to prioritise other legislation ahead of
this bill, which would offer real protections to victims of this horrific
crime?
(2) When can the
WA community expect the government to introduce this legislation or is it
simply another broken promise, like Tom Price Hospital?

(1)–(2) The
legislation has been drafted and it will be introduced shortly.
