I refer the minister to a reply to a question I asked on Wednesday, 24 October in which the Treasurer stated that the additional $5 million allocated to the Western Australian Tourism Commission will be sourced from regional development schemes. (1) Which schemes will be affected? (2) What will be the effect on each scheme now that the funds have been withdrawn? Hon TOM STEPHENS

(1)-(2) The regional infrastructure funding program has had its funds - Hon N.F. Moore: Which scheme is that? Hon TOM STEPHENS: The scheme has three parts: first, the regional development scheme, under which $400 000 has been allocated to each development commission; secondly, the capital works program, which involves the expenditure of $55 million over four years; and, thirdly, the Western Australian regional initiatives scheme. The RDS and WARIS will be unaffected. The central capital fund will have all its budget drawn for the current financial year and funds will be available on 1 July next year as a result of decisions made about this matter and a number of other matters that will impact on this program.
