WATER RESOURCES - SCHEME WATER CONSUMPTION
My question follows on from question without notice 1233 that I asked yesterday. In the interest of gaining clarity, I ask - (1) Is the current gross target for Perth’s scheme water consumption still 155 kilolitres per person per year by 2012? (2) If no to (1), why is that stated on the Water Corporation’s website? Hon KIM CHANCE

I thank Hon Paul Llewellyn for his question. Why would he seek more clarity after the clarity of yesterday’s answer? How clear can it get? The answer was a yesish no. How much clearer does the member want it? Hon Paul Llewellyn interjected. Hon KIM CHANCE : It was a yesish no. However, to provide the clarity sought by the honourable member, I advise - (1) The target of 155 kilolitres per person per annum by 2012 relates to Perth’s total water consumption. The target was set in the 2003 state water strategy and so has been captured in the Water Corporation’s integrated water supply scheme source development plan 2005. As previously stated, the “State Water Plan 2007” included a priority action to reduce household use to 100 kilolitres per person per annum by 2012. (2) That particular area of the website is currently being updated.
