I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question. On behalf of the Minister for Emergency Services, I provide the
following answer.
(1) Due to the
level of detail required, it is not possible to provide an answer to this part
of the question in the time frame available. The honourable member may wish to
put this part on notice.
(2) The
Department of Fire and Emergency Services is not responsible for fire
mitigation in Fitzgerald River National
Park. The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions is
responsible for prescribed burning in national parks.
(3) I am advised by the Minister for Environment that
the total expenditure relating to the recent Fitzgerald River National
Park bushfire is yet to be finalised. DBCA is waiting on a number of invoices
to be processed prior to determining the final cost for managing this incident.
