I refer to the report in The Sunday Times, dated 24 March 2013, that the company known as CAMMS paid for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kalamunda Shire to travel to Britain to extoll the virtues of the CAMMS system which had been adopted by the Shire, and I ask:
(a) has the CEO, members of the executive or any other staff member of the City of Melville or City of Bunbury engaged in any events or functions sponsored, organised or contributed to by CAMMS;
(b) if yes, which member/s of staff and what was the nature of the involvement; and
(c) who met the costs and how was this reported to the Councils?

(a) The Department of Local Government has not received any complaints
about the Chief Executive Officer, members of the executive or any other staff
member at the City of Melville or City of Bunbury engaging in any events or
functions sponsored, organised or contributed to by CAMMS. Therefore, I am
not aware of any instances of this nature. There is no specific
legislation that prevents local government employees from endorsing products or
services; however, local governments are required to adopt a Code of Conduct
for employees and I would expect that the code adopted should address this
matter.
(b) Not applicable.
(c) Not applicable.
