With reference to industrial development in the Dampier Archipelago and the transcript of proceedings of the National Native Title Tribunal Future Act Unit before Hon C J Sumner, Deputy President, at 9.37 am on Friday 8 November 2002, can the Minister -
(1) Identify if there is any current interest being shown in establishing industry or infrastructure through or on West Intercourse Island (WI)?
(2) Advise how many industries are showing an interest in establishing or in developing infrastructure on WI, and can the Minister name these companies?

(1) Woodside Energy Ltd is investigating the option of constructing a buried gas pipeline across West Intercourse Island to bring gas/condensate from its Pluto field to its proposed LNG plant on the Burrup. (2) See 1 above.
