MIDLAND LOCAL AREA EDUCATION PLANNING PROCESS
(1) When did the Swan district education office complete the local area education planning process and corresponding report that supports an integrated community learning precinct in Midland? (2) When will the above-mentioned report be released? (3) Does the government intend to establish an integrated community learning education precinct at the Midland Workshops site? (4) If yes, will the site include an Australian technical college, a university campus, TAFE college and an upper secondary school? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH

I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1)-(4) Obviously I take great interest in what happens generally in this state, particularly in Midland. The government is working towards the best possible education model in the Midland area, as it is elsewhere. Unfortunately, specific responses to the question the member asked cannot be provided at the moment because, although the Department of Education and Training completed the draft local area education plan for the Midland area in August 2005, it is still under consideration. Therefore, no decisions have been made at this stage.
