I refer to the ‘Report on Parliamentary Visit to the United States of America’ tabled in Parliament by Mark McGowan MLA. The report states in part ‘Potential infrastructure changes to the site were extremely important, as this was an opportunity that had never been offered to the US Military before. He felt that offering changes to the power, water and other facilities on the site would improve our prospects of success, as the USN would see our seriousness in relation to this matter.’ -
(1) Was such an offer made to the US Navy?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) If yes to (1), by whom?
(4) If yes to (1), what was the nature of this offer?
(5) If yes to (1), in what manner did the US Navy respond?
