(a) do these stations currently comply with the
Disability Services Act 1993

(b) if these stations do not comply with the above Act, when is work expected to be completed to bring them in line with the Act; and
(c) what provisions have been made in the meantime to assist those with a disability accessing these train stations?

The Public Transport Authority advises:
(a) Both stations are partially compliant with the Disability Services Act 1993.
(b) Maddington station will be upgraded as part of the 'Building Better Stations" program.
(c) Works undertaken include:
? Improved lighting.
? Installation of audio loops and hearing augmentation equipment.
? Public Address system to enable Central Monitoring Room staff to address passengers on the platform.
? 24 hr CCTV surveillance.
? Installed TTY telephone system for people with hearing problems.
? Installation of visual and audio information centres on stations.
Ramps are available at all stations that as required. Passengers requiring assistance at any station can pre-arrange this assistance by calling the Transperth Special Assistance number on 1800 800 022 one hour prior.
