(1)-(3) The Department of Transport is not negotiating with the Australian Greenhouse Office for the supply of natural gas refuelling stations. Consistent with trends throughout Australia, the Department of Transport will not own any refuelling equipment in the future, as it will purchase compressed natural gas at the nozzle. For AGO funding to apply to gas refuelling stations, the stations must be accessible to the public, and funding will apply only to the component that is required to achieve it. (4) Recent installations of refuelling stations supplying compressed gas to public transport utilities in the eastern States are owned and operated by joint venture companies.
