During the period 22 December 2007 to 28 January 2008 the following beds were closed temporarily due to renovations being carried out on the Central Sterilising Supply Department (CSSD):
(a) The 15 bed surgical ward (Colyer Ward).
10 surgical beds of the 18 bed mixed medical/surgical ward (Canning Ward).
The Same Day Unit (22 beds).
Emergency surgery remained available during this period of closure.
In the Mental Health Unit, beds were closed on the following dates:

On 12 June 2007 2 beds were closed due to electrical faults in a room;

On 22 August, 3 September, 5 September to 30 September, 16 October and 4 to 31 December 2007, 1 to 3 beds at any one time were closed due to nursing and medical staff shortages.
