LOCAL GOVERNMENT — AMALGAMATIONS
765. Mr D.A. TEMPLEMAN to the
Minister for Local Government:
I would like to
acknowledge in the public gallery Living Waters Lutheran College students from
Mandurah and their teachers, and welcome them to Parliament.
I refer the Minister
for Local Government to the complete disintegration of support for the
government's forced local government amalgamation policy from within
the government, highlighted by the loss of a major motion on the subject
yesterday in the Legislative Council, the first time this has occurred this
millennia. In light of yesterday's loss of confidence, will the
minister now withdraw his forced amalgamation agenda for the Perth metropolitan
area?
