ALMA
STREET CLINIC
1109. Hon STEPHEN DAWSON to the
Minister for Mental Health:
I refer to the Alma Street mental health unit.
(1) Has the
closure of the emergency department at Fremantle Hospital impacted on the
volume or type of patients presenting at the Alma Street clinic; and, if so,
what are the details?
(2) In relation to staffing at the clinic —
(a) how many
redundancies have been approved in the past 18 months;
(b) what changes in psychiatrist
positions have occurred in the past 18 months; and
(c) what was
the number and title of staff at 1 March 2014 and 1 September 2015?
(3) Have any
cost saving measures been imposed on the Alma Street Clinic in either 2014–15
or 2015–16; and, if so, what are the details?

I thank the member for some notice of this question, but
unfortunately it is not enough notice, especially when he asks questions about
the number and title of staff on 1 March and 1 September. The member wants the
number and title of each staff member. The department could not get back to me
in the time available. I am unable to provide a response in the time available
due to the significant amount of information to be obtained and collated. I
will provide a response to the honourable member on Wednesday, 21 October 2015.
