Patients on the public metropolitan elective surgery waitlist are classified into one of three categories based on the urgency of their condition. Table 1 below, provides a summary of the recommended wait times for patients on the elective surgery wait list and the average (median) wait time for the 333 people waiting as at 15 October 2006.
