GLEN IRIS GOLF COURSE
448. Hon BEN DAWKINS to the Leader of the House representing
the Minister for Planning:
I refer to the minister's
decision to approve a planning amendment to allow the development of the Glen
Iris Golf Course in Jandakot, contrary to the 9:1 vote of Cockburn council and
the signatures of 10 000 people presented to this chamber, and I confirm that
Leanne from the Jandakot Residents and Ratepayers Association has asked me to
pass on her thanks for a minister's staff meeting with the residents.
(1) Given that
the minister confirmed she met with the residents' association, which
sits on one side of this transaction, can she confirm when and how many times
she met with its opponents and WA Labor Party donors Eastcourt Management Pty
Ltd?
(2) What
portion of the $27 500 donation received from Eastcourt was to obtain an
audience, dinner and drinks with the minister and other ministers at the Labor
Business Roundtable function, which WAtoday refers to as a cash for access
scheme?
(3) Is it true
that at a community cabinet meeting three years ago at Jandakot Airport the
Premier said in relation to the golf course, within the earshot of JRRA members
and the Jandakot MLA, and I quote, ''Don't tell me this is f-ing
environmentally sensitive''?

I would love to give the answer. The
honourable member changed question (3) from what he submitted. His office tried
to do that about an hour ago. I thought that they were advised that they cannot
actually change the question. I have an answer to the question lodged at 11 o'clock
this morning, but it is not what he asked, so I will hold this and perhaps he
can ask the question he lodged tomorrow.
