Have any departments, agencies, government trading enterprises or boards within the Minister’s portfolio responsibilities made any attempt to become a partner of the Australian Government's Joint Cyber Security Centre: (a) If yes, on what date did the partnership become operational; and (b) If not, noting the significant benefits of doing so, why not?

Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage
(a)-(b) The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage is currently investigating the benefits of becoming a Joint Cyber Security Centre partner.
Department of Transport
(a)-(b) The Department of Transport (DoT) has no formal partnership with the Joint Cyber Security Centre (JCSC); however, DoT is a member of the WA JCSC and its Information Technology Security Administrator has a formal relationship with the chair of the local JCSC through ISACA board membership and industry networking.
The former Office of Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) representative on the WA JCSC recommended a single agreement for Whole of WA Government would be formed rather than individual agency agreements as the latter would be a significant burden on the JCSC and that the State Government was informed of all issues in this arena.
Main Roads Western Australia
(a)-(b) The appropriate Main Roads staff members have attended various briefing sessions and information exchange opportunities hosted by the Joint Cyber Security Centre wherever possible. An assessment will be undertaken to understand the benefits of becoming a Joint Cyber Security Centre partner.
Public Transport Authority
(a)-(b) The Public Transport Authority (PTA) has a working relationship with the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) Australia and regularly participates in information sharing with them. Although CERT Australia is now part of the Australian Cyber Security Centre, PTA may consider becoming a partner of the Australian Government Joint Cyber Security Centre in the future.

Further to this, Landgate Information Management Officers continue to be active participants with the Cyber Security Working Group within the Office of Digital Government.

(a)-(b) The MRA works closely with the WA State Government's Office of Digital Government in this area in line with the WA Digital Strategy.
