CLOSING THE GAP PROGRAMS
1297. Hon SOPHIA MOERMOND to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs:
I refer to the ongoing discussion
in the media, following the failure of the Voice to Parliament campaign, about
the poor performance of Closing the Gap programs across Australia.
(1) What are the
main Closing the Gap programs of the Western Australian government?
(2) How is the
government measuring the performance of these?
(3) Is the
government planning any substantive reviews of Closing the Gap programs in
light of this discussion in the media?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) The Closing
the Gap implementation plan 2023–25 outlines the strategic
priorities and activities of the WA
government. The plan can be accessed from the WA government's website,
and I table a copy of that plan.
[See paper 2729 .]
(2) Under the
National Agreement on Closing the Gap, all parties are required to publicly
report information on their progress on the implementation of the national
agreement through annual reports.
(3) The government's
priorities are not determined by discussions in the media.
