I refer the minister to Labor’s pre-election policy on mental health, which states that appropriate accommodation and support for those with a mental illness are important for a reasonable quality of life and stability. (1) Will continuing funding for the red wing mental facility, which is situated within Selby Lodge in Lemnos Street, Shenton Park, and which has recently been refurbished, be provided to ensure continuity of care for the residents after February 2004? This is an issue that the minister must be aware of. (2) If not, why not? (3) If not, and given that the status of the residents is high care, where will these residents be relocated? Mr J.A. McGINTY

Had the member given me some advance notice, I would have been in a position to provide him with a comprehensive report, as I always endeavour to do. If the member would like to place that question on notice, I will provide him with a detailed response.
