grey and Wedge ISLAND SHACKS — LIBERAL PARTY COMMITMENT
Some notice of this question has been given by Hon Sally Talbot. I refer to the commitment made by the then Liberal Party spokesperson for the environment, Dr Stephen Thomas, before the last state election when he indicated that a Liberal government was committed to continuing the role of the Wedge and Grey task force in determining the future of the shacks at Wedge Island and Grey. (1) Does the Minister for Environment intend to honour that commitment? (2) If yes, have any steps been taken to recommence the task force process? Hon DONNA FARAGHER

I thank the member for his question asked on behalf of Hon Sally Talbot. (1)-(2) I have been advised that the task force was established by the previous government in July 2008. I am aware that this is a longstanding issue. I will be meeting the Wedge Island Protection Association, the Grey Conservation and Community Association and the Shire of Dandaragan in the near future to discuss this issue.
