Minilya–Exmouth Road—Condition
730. Hon Rob Horstman to
the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to Minilya–Exmouth
Road and the generally poor condition of the road's surface and shoulders,
including eroded edges. Acknowledging that funding has been approved for 24 kilometres
of upgrades and that only two kilometres have been completed, I ask the
following.
(1) What is the current status of these upgrades?
(2) Will upgrades be in a staged approach and, if
so, how?
(3) Will any upgrades include overtaking lanes?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question and provide the following
answer on behalf of the Minister for Transport.
(1)–(3) To date, Main Roads WA has
completed the widening from North West Coastal Highway and the widening south
of Burkett Road. The scope of work in the Exmouth Roads Package was for
widening only.
