I refer to the "Cook Government's $5.3 million infrastructure boost for regional worker accommodation" and the $80 million Infrastructure Development Fund, and I ask: (a) What is the rationale for spending less than 20% of the $80 million Infrastructure Development Fund on regional projects? How was this figure arrived at; (b) In specific reference to the $1.4 million to help the Shires of Lake Grace and Beverley, please detail the specific infrastructure this amount of money is being allocated to fund; and (c) Can you confirm that regional projects were not given the extension of six months to apply but metropolitan projects were gifted an extension: (i) If yes, what was the rationale for not providing regional projects the same courtesy?

(a) The figure quoted by the member is incorrect. The $80 million Infrastructure Development Fund has $40 million allocated each regional projects. To date, $22.8 million has been approved for disbursement.
(b) Funding of $255,632 and $1,157,958 has been allocated following eligible applications from the shires of Lake Grace and Beverley respectively for water, wastewater and electricity infrastructure.
(c) The current round for regional accommodation projects closed on 6 September 2024 and are under assessment. Future rounds will be announced in due course.
