I refer to the Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC) recommendations regarding the alleged misconduct of Mr James Trail, and I ask: (a) it is now almost 12 months since the CCC handed down its finding into allegations of serious misconduct by Mr Trail, when will the Department of Local Government and Communities complete its investigation into the matter; (b) will the findings and recommendations of the Department of Local Government and Communities be made public; (c) what is the report date for the investigation; (d) is the Director-General herself undertaking the investigation or has she engaged consultants or delegated to other staff members responsibility for undertaking the investigation; and (e) what is the brief or terms of reference for the investigation?

(a) The Department of Local Government and Communities has completed its draft report and is seeking further advice before finalising the investigation.
(b) This has not been decided.
(c) There is no 'report date' as the investigation is not yet concluded.
(d) Officers of the Department of Local Government and Communities are undertaking the investigation.
(e) The terms of reference for the investigation were:
'1. Whether Mr James Trail, former Chief Executive Officer of the Shire of Kalamunda, received any personal benefit by the way of gifts, contributions to travel or other from CA Technology Pty Ltd trading as CAMMS when he was employed as Chief Executive Officer of the Shire of Kalamunda;
2. Whether such benefits were disclosed in accordance with the requirements of the Act and the regulations made under it;
3. Any other issue considered to be of relevance to the above.'
