Can the Minister please supply the following information in respect to the granting of extraordinary drivers licenses -
(1) How many extraordinary licenses have been granted to West Australian drivers in the last 12 months?
(2) How many of these successful applications involved drivers who lost their licence due to a drink driving offence?
(3) How many of these successful applications involved applicants who lost their licence due to the accumulation of demerit points?
(4) What percentage of the total number of these licence applications was successful?

The Department of Planning and Infrastructure advise the following: (1) 2252 extraordinary licences were granted in the period 1 June 2005 to 31 May 2006 in Western Australia. (2) 742 applications granted were due to licence revocations through drink driving offences. (3) 616 applications granted were made after demerit point suspensions. (4) The Department for Planning and Infrastructure does not have records of the number of applications to the country Courts as those figures have only been recorded by them since August 2005. In respect of the applications made to the metropolitan Courts, 55.6% were successful.
