RESIDENTIAL TENANCIES ACT — REVIEW
470. Hon Dr BRAD PETTITT to the minister representing the
Minister for Commerce:

refer to the review of the Residential Tenancies Act 1987 which commenced in
2019 and for which the consultation period ended on 30 June 2020.
Will the minister please provide an
update on the progress of the review, and specifically —
(a) when is the review expected to
be completed;
(b) when will the results of the
review be released; and
(c) when can we expect to see the
subsequent legislation introduced?

(a) The review is
current, the consultation phase has concluded, and outcomes are expected to be
provided to government before the end of 2021.
(b) The
government expects to be able to inform stakeholders about its response to the
review before the end of 2021.
(c) Subsequent legislation will be
subject to the government's legislative priorities.
