The Federal Government has announced its intention to make a formal apology to the people who were abused while in the care of the state and territory governments. They have indicated that an apology will also be made to mothers who gave their children up for adoption. The Federal Government has stated it will be requesting state and territory governments to consult with their key stakeholders to assist in the formation of the apology. Given this, I ask:
(1) Which state minister will have responsibility for Western Australia’s consultation process with local stakeholders regarding input to the Federal Government’s apology?
(2) What form will the consultation take in Western Australia?
(3) Which stakeholders will be consulted as part of this process?
(4) How will mothers of children given for adoption be consulted as part of this apology?
