STUDENT ASSISTANCE
PAYMENT — INFORMATION RELEASE
376. Mr P.J. RUNDLE to the Minister for Education:
I have a supplementary question. The
minister knows the challenges that some members of the community have had in
accessing this payment. Is it appropriate for Labor members' Facebook
pages to be the avenue for people to inquire to apply?
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Order, please!
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Ministers! We
will just wait. I had about eight ministers interject before I could give you
the call, Minister for Education.

Thank you, Madam Speaker.
There is nothing stopping the member
for Roe from advocating for the scheme. The member knows what is involved. He
can go and advocate for it. Members on this side of the house are actually
going to visit their schools. They are actually doorknocking. They are not just
on Facebook. They are actually doorknocking on doors and going to their schools. If the member has an
interest in advocating for his schools in his electorate on this government policy that he has opposed since day one,
come and see me and I will assist him in advocating. We can go out together !
I am more than happy to go on a drive in Roe, and we can go and visit all the
schools. I am very happy to do that! There
is a challenge for the member. He knows how I like his company. If he wants to
come out with me, I am more than happy to join him in Katanning. We can
go on a road trip. I would love to go through the wheatbelt with him, and we
will go to the schools. We can even have meetings with parents and citizens associations
and parents, and we will help them if they are having any difficulties in
accessing registration for the payments.
