I refer to the Minister's announcement of a green paper on the taxi industry, and I ask: (a) when will the paper be released for public comment; (b) what issues does the Minister expect the paper will cover; (c) how long will the paper be available for public comment; (d) how long does the Minister expect the assessment of public comment process will take; (e) when does the Minister expect a final Government position will be reached; and (f) when does the Minister expect that any legislative changes arising from the green paper will be implemented?

(a)-(f) A green paper on the taxi industry will be released for public comment following consideration by government. The paper will provide an opportunity to discuss the future of on-demand transport in Western Australia including a shared responsibility model for industry to improve accountability, a licensing framework for on-demand transport, a state-wide regulatory environment for on-demand transport and a review of the role of the regulator.
Any decisions to proceed with legislative change arising from the green paper will be a separate process and the implementation schedule will be considered in consultation with both the public and industry.
