SOCIAL HOUSING —
BUILDING CONDITION ASSESSMENTS
154. Hon Dr BRAD PETTITT to the minister representing the
Minister for Housing:
I refer to the Department of Communities'
building condition assessment program.
(1) Is the
department reviewing whether homes contain insulation, fans or other
energy-efficiency aspects?
(2) If no to (1), why not?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following response has been provided by the
Minister for Housing.
(1)–(2) Due
to the average age of social housing stock in Western Australia, the building
condition assessment program is focused on
uniform assessment and prioritisation of works to improve the condition of
homes and, in many cases, extend their useful life. Depending on the
individual asset, subsequent works or maintenance may include insulation, fans
and other energy-efficiency aspects.
