I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
(1)–(2) As
soon as I became aware that there was an error in the information provided to
the Standing Committee on Estimates and Financial Operations—which was
on Friday just gone—I requested the director general of the Department
of Planning to conduct an urgent review to ensure the accuracy of all
information provided in relation to this matter. While the review is still
being completed, I have been advised that it has already identified other
errors that will also need to be corrected. I have requested the department to
correct and complete the dataset as a matter of urgency. As soon as it has been
received, I will write to the committee and provide the correct information. In
the meantime, I have discussed the matter with the committee chair and verbally
advised him of the steps I am taking to correct the record as soon as possible.
The supplementary question was asked
by Hon Sue Ellery. I indicate
to the house that as soon as I receive the information and provide it to the
committee, I will also provide a copy to Hon Sue Ellery .
