(1) Has the Government funded, or does it intend to fund, a preliminary design for a connector road between Pearson Street and Empire Avenue? (2) If yes to (1), how much has been spent to date? (3) In reference to (1), in light of the public opposition, will the Government now withdraw funding for this local road and allow proper planning and environmental processes to resume without influence? (4) Will the Government investigate why the Trustees of the Marist Brothers (Newman College) were granted a lease over land that forms part of the Stephenson Highway road reserve, a 9,000 square metre parcel of public land, for just $2,650 per annum? (5) In reference to (3), why has no action been taken despite the lessees ignoring the terms of the lease, including the construction of permanent car parks and the destruction of mature native trees located on land they do not own? (6) Why has the State Government, in January 2025, refused to provide its consent to protect a 450+ year old tree, that has been identified by Professor Kinglsey Dixon as a shield tree with Indigenous significance, after it received requests from the local community? (7) In reference to (1), why has the State Government considered or provided $300,000 of tax payer's money for the design of a proposed road that is not required, based on all available traffic and safety statistics showing that this part of Churchlands neither suffers from any form of traffic congestion nor is a hazardous area for traffic accidents?
