PERTH
CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL — FRIENDSHIP ROOM
661. Mr R.H. COOK to the
Minister for Health:
I have a supplementary question. Further to that advice, will
the minister guarantee that parents of children who are undergoing operations will
have a dedicated lounge such as the friendship room that is equivalent to the
service currently on offer?

AnswerView source ↗

There will in fact be parent lounges located on each floor of
the hospital as one of the aspects of what is being included in the new
children's hospital. I will get advice as to whether there will be
something exactly equivalent to the friendship room currently at Princess
Margaret Hospital or not, but there is every thought being put into ensuring
that parents, families and, of course, children themselves will be very well
provided for in much better and more spacious new facilities at the new children's
hospital.
