PERTH FREIGHT LINK ROUTE
385. Ms S.F. McGURK to the Minister for
Transport:
I have a supplementary question. How does the minister
reconcile phoning people directly about bus routes in marginal seats, but for
people who might have their homes bulldozed, the best he can do is send vague,
impersonal letters?

What does that have to do with the original question—the
bus routes?
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : As
the member for Midland pointed out, we have a very short question time. I want
short answers. We have the wall of noise. If you want to answer the question, answer
it; otherwise, do not answer it.
Mr D.C. NALDER : I
am a bit confused about how this is a supplementary question, because all of a
sudden we are talking about bus routes.
Mr D.J. Kelly : Sit
down, you fool.
Mr D.C. NALDER :
No, I am happy to talk about bus routes.
The SPEAKER :
Member for Bassendean, I call you to order for the first time. I do not want to
hear about bus routes. The question was: if you did something on bus routes,
why did you not do this for the people that you sent letters to? Address the
letters.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER :
Members!
Mr D.C. NALDER :
All I picked up through the noise was ''bus routes'' and I did
not know where that was coming from. We have written to everybody who would be
affected, and we have done that early so that we can now engage in
conversations for those who might like to look at options. But I have said
up-front that we are exploring a number of options to see if we can build a
better route.
