(1) Yes.
(2) The Member has written to me on behalf of a transport operator in his electorate who is contemplating changes to their business operations and was concerned that construction of the Geraldton Southern Transport Corridor Stage 2 may impact on access to a depot.
I also had discussions with the Member regarding the project at a ground breaking ceremony held in Geraldton on 28 January 2009 to mark the commencement of construction.
(3) It would not be appropriate to provide copies of correspondence which identifies the transport operator concerned or the operational changes they may be contemplating to their business. However, I can confirm that further investigation of the project design by Main Roads indicated that there would be no impact on the proposed operations.
