CONTINENCE MANAGEMENT AND ADVICE SERVICES
1. 222. Hon SAMANTHA ROWE to
the Minister for Disability Services:
(1) Is funding
for the continence management and advice service ongoing; and, if so, is there
funding for the provision of a continence management kit for patients who have
been assessed as needing the kit?
(2) What is the total budget allocation for the provision of
the kits?
(3) How much is each kit worth and what are the contents of
the kit?
(4) What is
the standard time delay between a patient being assessed as needing the
continence management kit and the patient being delivered the kit?
(5) Are some patients having to wait more than one month for
the delivery of their kit?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice
of this question.
(1) There is a
recurrent budget for the continence management and support scheme, which is for
the provision of continence management products. The funding does not provide
kits; however, if kits are interpreted to be continence management products,
then, yes, within the available budget, there is funding for people who have
been assessed as eligible and needing continence management products.
(2) It was $2 767 440 in 2012–13.
(3) Up to $490 per person per annum.
(4) There is
no standard time between someone being assessed as eligible and requiring
products and receiving them.
(5) Yes. Once the CMASS budget has been utilised, a waitlist
is established.
