I am reflecting on the interjections
from the Minister for Training. She is absolutely right. When we came to
office, we took over from a government that had been expressly disinterested in
this issue. It is a difficult issue, and we understand that. That is why we got
involved. We appointed a Minister for Prevention of Family and Domestic
Violence, we increased the resources and we brought in legislation and other
measures to make sure that we support victims better. We have done more in the
short time that we have been in government than members opposite did in their
entire eight and a half years, and we will continue to do more.
