(2) Mr Stuart Hicks will conduct the present assessment. (3) I have noted the advice of the Heritage Council that it is premature to produce a new Heritage Bill currently and that the implications associated with new interstate and Federal heritage laws need to be taken into account when drafting a new Bill. (4) No specific timetable exists to review the Heritage Act in its entirety. The Stuart Hicks assessment will commence in early July, with a report due by mid August 2004. (5) As above. (6) As stated above, no Bill will be presented in 2004. The need for any legislation will be considered in 2005.
