ROYAL
PERTH HOSPITAL — ACCESS
33. Hon ED DERMER to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Transport:
Some notice has been given of the question, and the number
for the question is 27.
I refer to the Minister for
Transport's advice by way of question without notice 933 of 13 November
2012 that the minister will examine the means of access between McIver railway
station and Royal Perth Hospital for the purpose of improving access for patients,
particularly those with impaired mobility.
(1) Has this examination been concluded?
(2) If no to
(1), why not, and when does the minister expect the examination to be
concluded?
(3) If the
examination has been concluded, will the minister table the result of the
examination?

I thank Hon Ed
Dermer for some notice of his question and for designating the number of
the question. I thank him very much for that.
Main Roads Western Australia advises —
(1) No.
(2) Following
a preliminary review by Main Roads, it has been determined that direct access
between the railway station and the hospital does not involve Main Roads
assets; therefore, any in-depth investigation would need to be undertaken by
the relevant asset owner. If the member could clarify the exact nature of the
access concerned, this would assist in identifying the relevant asset owner.
Main Roads is happy to provide technical advice in this matter.
(3) Not applicable.
