Department of State Development advises:
(1)The Department of State Development as precinct proponent in conjunction with the Department for Planning and Infrastructure has responsibility for the assessment.
(2) An average of three full-time equivalents over 12 months.
(3) The social impact assessment is due for completion in November 2009.
(4) $800,000.
(5) Local community, local government, Government, the Aboriginal community, non-government organisations, fisheries, pearling, tourism and other industries, the broader Australian community through media and information releases, and public comment periods.
(6) Yes, the social impact assessment is to be incorporated within the strategic assessment reporting process. The strategic assessment report will be completed by late 2009 and released for public comment. The report will include environmental, heritage and social impact assessments and related management plans.
(7) Not applicable.
(8) A minimum of 28 days.
