SCHOOL VIOLENCE
460. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Minister for Education and
Training:
I
refer to the answer given to question without notice 130 asked on 12 March 2019
about the new alternative learning centres for the most violent
students.
(1) For each of the pilot alternative learning
centres, how many students are currently participating in programs?
(2) Are there any
students currently waiting to be placed at one of the centres; and, if yes, how
many?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question.
(1) As at 14 May 2019, the north metropolitan area
has two students, the south metropolitan area has four students and the
south west has four students.
(2) No. Placement
in an alternative letting setting is one of several options available for
students who have been excluded from a school for violent behaviour. Numbers
will fluctuate as students move into the program and others transition to other
settings or programs.
